Taquería Auténtica,
hecha con amor.

Tortillas hand-pressed each morning. Salsas molcajeteadas. A neighborhood table on Fullerton Ave.

4238 W. Fullerton Ave, Chicago

Nuestra Historia

Three generations. One recipe book. No shortcuts.

El Tapatío opened its doors in 2004, bringing the bold, smoky flavors of Guadalajara to Chicago's Belmont Cragin neighborhood. Every salsa is ground daily in stone molcajetes, every tortilla pressed by hand, every plate served the way our grandmother taught us.

Loved by the neighborhood

"Best al pastor on the west side. Reminds me of my abuelita's kitchen — the tortillas are made fresh and you can taste it."

Maria G.

"I drive 30 minutes for the carne asada. Generous portions, salsa bar is unmatched, staff treats you like family."

Diego R.

"Hidden gem on Fullerton. Beautiful little dining room, incredible horchata, and the elote is unreal."
